Lincoln United won back-to-back games for the first time since their promotion back up to step four last night as they secured a 2-0 win over Dunston UTS.
The Whites went into this fixture off the back of a narrow 1-0 win against Blyth Town, in which, Elliot Dye scored a penalty to end Lincoln United’s four game losing streak.
That game moved them out of the four relegation spots and into 17th place in the Northern Premier League East Division.
Scott Hellewell put out the exact same starting 11 and bench as the team that secured three points just a couple of days prior.
Their opponents, Dunston UTS were 12th place in the league before kick-off and had recently fallen to a 2-1 defeat against Gainsborough Trinity in the FA Cup.

A Quiet First Half:
The first opportunity of the game fell for the visitors in the 12th minute when a long high ball found Sado Djalo on the edge of the area. The striker took it on the volley, but his effort flew wide of the post.
Ethan Bojang’s curled effort in the 35th minute was the first time the Whites threatened Dunston, the midfielder found himself in plenty of space and let fly but his strike was ultimately too high.
Dunston had the final chance of the half in the 44th minute when Harvey Neary sent in an inviting cross to Jonathan O’ Donnell. The winger rose high and courageously won the header in the box but couldn’t direct the ball goal-wards and his effort travelled inches over.

The Whites Prevail:
A quick counter from United just two minutes into the half and a slip from the Dunston defender meant Owen Vincent was clean through on goal; however, Daniel Lowson made a great save to deny the winger.
Patient play from Vincent after he was slipped in by Connor Brown led to the game’s opener in the 67th minute. The winger held the ball up well and played a return pass back into United’s number nine who applied the clinical finish to put his side ahead.
Jaime Ture doubled United’s advantage with his third of the season in the 76th minute as he fired a strike goal-wards that deflected off a defender and past Lowson in goal.
The Whites nearly added a third late on, substitute Grayson Giles battled well and bought himself a yard, but his strike was saved and held by Lowson in the Dunston net.
Lincoln goalkeeper Heath Richardson had work to do of his own before United were out of the woods as he tipped Wil Shaw’s floated effort over the bar in injury time.
