Lincoln United Women lose 3-1 to Stourbridge in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup first round at Ashby Avenue.
The Whites gained their ticket to the first-round after a 3-2 comeback win against Alvechurch.
This was the second meeting between the two sides this year, with Stourbridge winning the league meeting 1-0 earlier this season.

A Frustrating First Half
The Whites started well and created great chances early on. Alice Hayes denied twice in the first five minutes with great saves from the Stourbridge keeper.
United narrowly missed taking the lead in the 25th minute – Bella Bogg’s free kick effort just narrowly skimmed the roof of the net.
The game was back and forth for the rest of the half; but with no clear-cut chances for either side, we headed into the break all square.
An Intense Second Half
The Whites came back out fighting in the second half; Lucy Farrow showed her pace down the right side, but her cross was picked up by the Stourbridge centre-half.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 50th minute when Bella Bogg’s corner sailed over everyone in the box and settled in the far corner. A deserved goal after a standout performance.

Stourbridge hit back in the 66th minute; Bella Martin with her first senior goal for the Glassgirls to make it 1-1.
Despite United’s best efforts, Stourbridge pulled ahead just ten minutes after their first goal. Caitlyn Deeley fired home to give the visitors the lead and take the score to 2-1.
The Whites’ afternoon wasn’t over as they desperately chased an equaliser but another from Caitlyn Deeley in the 90th minute put the game out of sight. at the final whistle, the visitors wrapped up a strong second half with a final score of 3-1.
An unlucky loss
A disappointing result for Lincoln come the full-time whistle, some positives to take moving forward but the Whites bow out of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Lincoln United Women are back in action later this week against Notts County on Thursday 30th October.
