The Big Spook returned to Lincoln streets for the third year in a row on 25 October, 2025, bringing a range of Halloween-inspired activities for the city, as demands for spooky celebrations rises nationally.
The campaign, launched by Lincoln Business Improvement Group (BIG), brings a monster invasion, ghost bus tours and pumpkin picking to Lincoln, as well as a Strolling Bones Parade on 29 October.
This year, the company has announced additional monsters, with nine of the inflatable creatures taking over Lincoln rooftops, and new workshops aimed to give people of all ages space to create puppets or Halloween decorations.

Courtney Harrison, marketing co-ordinator for Lincoln Big, said: “It gets bigger and better every year. As Halloween grows nationally and globally, it means that we can develop the event and expand it to fit all age groups, which is really nice.”
Lincoln Big created The Big Spook in 2023 after the cancellation of Lincoln’s Christmas Market led to a fall in tourism for the city.
Courtney said: “The ghost tour and the workshops have all sold out this year which proves the demand. Last year, when we did the parade, CCTV captured over 30,000 people in uphill Lincoln which, ultimately, benefits all of Lincoln’s businesses.”
The Big Spook has sparked a “buzz” among visitors, with families taking full advantage of the half-term events.
Melanie Strawson, 38, Lincoln local, said: “We have seen lots of families and people doing the monster invasion, and for us it’s something nice to do in the holidays as a family. Hopefully it brings people in to spend some money for the communities and the small businesses.”
Lincoln Big also encourages students to reach out to take part in the seasonal events, helping to build

portfolios and benefitting students’ media and photography skills.
