Lincoln United have today confirmed that manager Scott Hellewell and his assistant Paul Grimes have been sacked, with the club sat 15th in the Northern Premier League East Division.
Hellewell and Grimes were appointed by the club at the beginning of the 2024/25 season after the Whites reached the UCL Premier Division North play-off semi-final the season prior.
The 40-year-old managed 75 games for the side as they won the Premier Division North last season, finishing one point ahead of eventual play-off winners Bourne Town.
United also secured the double as they beat the Wakes 3-1 in the Lincolnshire FA County Senior Cup final after three first half goals.
However, hopes of a treble diminished as they lost out in both the Champions Cup final as well as the League Cup final to end the season, before the side jetted off to Magaluf.

A statement from Lincoln United said: “We are extremely grateful to Scott, Paul and Jon for their commitment and contribution over the last 18 months.
“Scott will always be remembered as one of the only managers in our history to deliver a league trophy.”
Hellewell adopted a similar style of play to his trusted 4-2-3-1 he deployed last season for United’s return to step four football, despite experimenting with a back five during pre-season.
As a result, the Whites have had a relatively successful start to their return to step four as they sit in 15th place, four points clear of the relegation zone.
They’re also currently on a three-game unbeaten run having found victories over Consett AFC, which was their first win in six.
That was before they faced the long trip to Newton Aycliffe where they secured a 2-2 draw before returning home and earning a 1-0 victory over recently relegated side Blyth Spartans.

The statement then said: “The Board has unanimously concluded that it is in the best interests of the Club for a change to take place.
“The priority of the Board is for the club to maintain our step 4 status and avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
“While the last three games have seen a more positive run of results, we cannot base our decision on emotions aligned to this triumph or this recent form.
Lincoln United’s Director of Men’s football Dave Frecklington will take charge of the sides game on Saturday at home to Ashington AFC.
