Gainsborough Trinity will welcome SkyBet League Two side Accrington Stanley to the KAL Group Stadium on Sunday as they face off in the FA Cup first round.
This will be the second time in seven years that the Holy Blues have reached this stage after they beat Hednesford Town on penalties this time last season.
That game was away from home, as was their second-round trip to SkyBet League Two side Harrogate Town.
Therefore, this game will be the first time since 2015 that the Northolme has hosted an FA Cup game beyond the qualifying rounds.
To reach this point the Holy Blues have already seen off opposition from higher leagues in National League side Hartlepool United.
That was after they saw off fellow Northern Premier League sides Dunston UTS, Rushall Olympic and Corby Town all by a scoreline of 2-1.
However, to progress to the same stage they reached last season, the Holy Blues face up to a struggling Accrington side that currently sit 21st in League Two, just a point above the drop zone.
The Reds failed to win any of their first six league games, picking up three draws along the way as well as progressing to the Carabao Cup second round.
That came after they were required to face up to newly promoted side Oldham Athletic in this season’s new qualification phase before getting the better of Peterborough United in the first round.
More recently John Doolan’s side won just one of their last five league games as they beat current second placed side Swindon Town 4-0 thanks to a Paddy Madden hat-trick.
The Holy Blues on the other hand, have once again put themselves in the hunt for the play offs in the Northern Premier League Premier Division as they hold onto fifth place.
They sit on 22 points having won seven of their opening 12 league games after drawing just one along the way, despite losing their opening league game against Ashton United.
Trinity are expected to have a full squad available for this one including top goal scorer Jonny Margetts who Russ Wilcox said: “Is back before we expected.
“It gives me options everywhere and everyone deserves to be involved because everyone has played a part.”
The striker returned to the side and played 45 minutes in last week’s FA Trophy victory over Redditch United after he suffered a rib injury in the draw against Hartlepool United.
Speaking on the game Wilcox said: “It’s a special game but we’ve just got to keep our feet on the ground and do things properly; It’s a cup tie so anything can happen.
“It’s a really big challenge for us but we don’t fear it, we’re usually the underdog and you do seem to get that extra 10-20 percent from players.”
