Gainsborough Trinity were held to a 1-1 draw against a Rushall Olympic side that have only won two out of their last ten games.
Kian Ryley opened the scoring in the first minute of first half injury time before Will Lancaster headed home the equaliser with just over 20 minutes remaining.
Rushall Olympic have had a tough start to life in the Northern Premier League after being relegated from the National League North last season, as they find themselves in 15th place.
Russ Wilcox made one change from the side that took Sky Bet League Two side Accrington Stanley to extra time as Frank Mulhern came in for wide man Javelle Clarke.
This was the second time that the two sides had faced off against each other this season as Trinity came out 2-1 winners during their run to the FA Cup first round.
Dominant in possession:
Both goalkeepers were forced into action early on as the ball bounced around the Rushall penalty area before Frank Mulhern had a relatively tame header well saved.
The Pics went straight up the other end and forced David Robson to save low down at his near left post as Kian Ryley struck well from just inside the penalty area.
It was a slow start to the game as the Holy Blues had all the ball but failed to create a clear-cut chance until Aaron Simpson had the opportunity to volley from the corner of the penalty area.
However, his effort was well blocked by Carter Lycett and Trinity failed to capitalise from the resulting corner half an hour in.
Two minutes later Mulhern attempted the acrobatics from the penalty spot after a cross from the right, but Jake Davies-Manton got down to it well in the Rushall goal.
Despite the early dominance, Robson was called up again with just under ten minutes remaining in the half as Toumani Sidibe broke through one-on-one, but the Trinity goalkeeper stood up well to block the shot.
Trinity then went straight up the other end as Lewis Butroid found Fraser Preston alone in the penalty area, but he could only turn his header over from six-yards out.
The deadlock was eventually broken by the visitors in the first of five minutes of injury time as Ryley struck spectacularly from almost 40-yards out to find the top left corner.
Russ Wilcox’s men still sensed a goal before half time as both captain Bobby Johnson and substitute Sisa Tuntulwana had headers spectacularly saved to close out the half.
However, it wasn’t to be for the Holy Blues as they went in 1-0 down at the break despite dominating possession.
Trinity kept knocking:
The Holy Blues came close again five minutes into the second half as Tuntulwana’s cross from the right bounced through everybody and came back off the post, but there was nobody in blue to turn home the rebound.
Just short of the hour mark, and Butroid broke through one-on-one as Preston played him through the middle, however Davies-Manton got down well as the winger looked to bend his effort into the bottom left corner.
A double chance then fell the way of the Holy Blues which led to the equaliser as Bobby Johnson danced his way into the penalty are but couldn’t quite find a shot.
He instead laid the ball of to Mulhern who struck well as Davies-Manton tipped it behind for a corner that Trinity then found the equaliser from the head of Will Lancaster.
Tuntulwana almost turned home with 20 minutes remaining on the clock, as Mulhern’s clever flick found him six-yards out, but Davies-Manton spread himself well to save.
Mulhern was then involved again five minutes later as he flicked a header from a corner over at the near right post.
The Holy Blues kept pushing in the final 15 minutes as a poor clearance led to the ball fortunately landing at the feet of Javelle Clarke, but he could only turn his effort wide of the post.
Despite all the possession Trinity failed to find a winning goal in the six minutes of injury time as Russ Wilcox’s side were held to a 1-1 draw against a side that have won just two games out of 11.
Gainsborough now face the long trip to Lancashire to face up to Bamber Bridge on Tuesday night where they hope to get back to winning ways.
