On Wednesday, Lincoln City welcomed young forward Ryan Oné from Sky Bet Championship side Sheffield United on loan until the end of the season.
The move didn’t come as a surprise to Imps fans as Oné had been rumoured to join the club following speculation he could also join fellow League One side Rotherham United.
The Scotsman joins City after making six appearances so far this season for the Blades but is yet to score a goal in that time.
Since joining United in September 2023, the 19-year-old has only scored one goal in all competitions for the club, coming last season in the Championship against Bristol City as he made 22 appearances in total.

Born in Coatbridge, Scotland, Oné spent his time in the Hamilton Academical youth academy before making his first team debut in the 2022/23 season.
In his time at the club, the forward was involved in some big moments including scoring the winning goal for Hamilton in the semi-final of the SPFL Trust Trophy and falling in favour with then manager John Rankin.
That summer, Oné had much interest from the Premier League, including Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool who both wanted his signature.
In June 2023, it was reported that Brighton and Hove Albion had enquired about the player, but Hamilton had rejected the offer.
Oné’s big move to Yorkshire came in the September of that year, and he began life by scoring on his debuts for the club’s U18 & U21 side before moving up to senior team football.
He made his senior debut for the Blades against Arsenal in a 5-0 away defeat on October 28 after being an unused substitute against Manchester United.
City head coach Michael Skubala – speaking ahead of the Imps match against Wigan – seemed happy about getting the forwards signature and beating clubs like Rotherham in the transfer window.
Skubala said: “He’s a brilliant young prospect, talent. They think very highly of him at Sheffield United.
“They haven’t let him out here to come and support us and what we’re doing lightly. He had lots of opportunities to go to many clubs in League One.
“He hasn’t played loads of first team minutes this season, but we’ve seen him in training for the first time, and he looks like he could be a real handful which is great. I see him supporting that topline.
“We’re blessed to have many young attackers at the club.”
