Lincoln United secured all three points for the first time in the league since November, with a two-goal win that saw the Whites leapfrog out of the bottom four.

Connor Brown netted goals in each half of the game, which ultimately were enough for the hosts to defeat the travelling Ossett United.

Lincoln United were rooted to the bottom of the Pitching in the Northern Premier League going into the fixture, with interim manager Dave Frecklington’s side having drawn their last two outings.

Yesterday’s win sees that run become three unbeaten, and lifts the Whites up to 18th, out of the drop zone on goal difference.

Lincoln United forward Connor Brown bagged a brace on Saturday to help lift his side out of the relegation zone. Ed Mayes Photography.

Goalkeeper coach, James Morgan reflected on the win. He said: “I thought we started brightly, and the front two were real pests.

“The lads are a real unit, they’ve really brought into what we’re trying to do and we’re pleased we got our rewards.”

The 50-year-old went on to praise the defensive character of his side:

“Heath (Richardson) has barely had a save to make. Jack (Dando) has been a beast, he’s brought Swinny (Sam Swinn) on. Billy’s (Bradley) done a good job and Max (Baker) has put in good performances recently.

“We’ve got to stay switched on in the last ten minutes after recent weeks, and the boys did that today.”

The Whites travel to Garforth Town in a midweek fixture, that poses as another opportunity to move further away from the relegation zone and up the table.
