Lincoln City are preparing to face Rotherham United this weekend, after a dramatic midweek fixture for the Imps.

City came back from two goals down at Huddersfield on Tuesday night, managing to extend their unbeaten run to 21 league games.

It’s no secret that Skubala’s side are coming into this one as favourites, but Rotherham will be looking to scrape every point possible in their fight to avoid relegation.

The reverse fixture in November ended in a 3-0 win for the Millers; a result that the home side will be looking to avoid repeating.

Lincoln’s current run of form can only be described as incredible, with 12 goals in their last five games, and their immense defensive record of 15 clean sheets this season.

Rotherham’s recent performances have been less impressive, with just three goals in their last five games, and the most recent of those games being a huge 5-0 loss to Peterborough United.

Lincoln City hero Sean Raggett will return to the LNER Stadium to face his former side

Matthew Hamshaw’s side are looking to find their way out of the relegation zone in these final few games of the season, so the Imps know that this weekend will be no easy task.

Skubala has deemed these three points, however, to be just as important, if not more so, than any of the previous wins this season as the Imps look to hold off Cardiff City at the top of the table.

Recent injury updates could see Adam Reach out for the season, with his problems being deemed worse than initially thought, although Ryley Towler has shown little issue in finding top performances when needed this season.

Freddie Draper didn’t feature in Tuesday night’s squad once again as his long-awaited return is yet to be seen. The Imps striker had been in hot form in the weeks leading up to his absence and the fans will be hoping to see him out on the pitch again soon.

The home atmosphere has been a talking point in interviews all season long, with Lincoln City still having only been beaten once at the LNER Stadium all season in the league. It’s fair to say that home advantage will play a big part in this weekend’s fixture.

It’s a vital game for both sides, with one looking for league glory, and the other with one eye on the few teams below them.
