Michael Skubala was pleased with his group’s effort in an emphatic 4-0 win at home against Blackpool yesterday afternoon.

Conor McGrandles & Dom Jefferies first goals of the campaign, alongside strikes from Rob Street and Ryan Oné saw the Imps extend their unbeaten run to 17 games.

This was the second time in as many home games that the Imps have won by this scoreline and Skubala said: “The last ten to 15 minutes we were discussing getting a clean sheet because it’s really important to us.

“When you see the substitutes coming on when a team has dealt with us for the first 60 minutes, and then they go and make changes to their front line it’s clear that they want to go and get goals as well.

“It’s a group effort to make sure we’re good at both ends.”

Skubala named an unchanged side to face the Tangerines after their 2-0 victory away from home against Mansfield Town.

However, it’s not only the starting 11 that have had impacts on the Imps’ scoring of late.

Against the Stags, substitute Tom Bayliss scored in added time to get City their second goal, and against Blackpool, Dom Jefferies and Ryan Oné made their impact from the bench.

The Lincoln head coach finds it so important to have a great group he said: “It’s really important. It’s the modern game.

“To make changes, to be able to affect game, and they’ve been sensational today, the substitutes were magnificent.”

The 43-year-old’s side will next travel to the Cardiff City Stadium next Saturday in a 12:30 kick off which will have a big impact on the SkyBet League One title race.
