With an international break approaching over the next week, some former Lincoln City players have the chance to seal their place at this summer’s FIFA World Cup
We looked into exactly which former Imps have the chance to represent the side in North America this June.
Lincoln City is a cornerstone of footballing talent, with many superstars passing through the LNER stadium on their journeys to the very top. But which of those talents could represent their nation at the highest level this June?
Dexter Lembikisa
A member of this seasons Lincoln squad, Lembikisa is perhaps the most exciting player for Imp fans to follow.
The 22-year-old defender made five appearances in all competitions for Lincoln this season, before his short-term loan ended in January and he returned to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Jamaican international has been capped an impressive 35 times for his country, playing in major American tournaments like the CONCAF Gold Cup.
Jamaica are currently fighting for World Cup qualification, facing off against New Caledonia this Friday in a play-off match. The winner will play either Bolivia or Suriname in a final game that decides which team goes to the World Cup.
Lembikisa has played in seven of the World Cup qualifying games, and should get a chance to feature again in a bid to get Jamaica to their first World Cup since 1998.

Morgan Rogers
One of the most talented players to have played for Lincoln in recent times, Morgan Rogers will be ready to impress at his first international tournament for England.
Since playing 28 times for the Imps back in the 2020/21 season, Rogers has gone on to become a world-class attacking midfielder, becoming a staple for Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Named in the England squad this week for games against Uruguay and Japan. Rogers will hope to win his 13th cap for his country, it being a chance to show England manager Thomas Tuchel why he should make the plane for America.
Tuchel will definitely have a selection headache over who to play in attacking midfield, with Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, and of course Rogers all being accomplished in that role. But the 23-year-old will surely be a shoo-in to make the squad.
Brennan Johnson
Hoping to battle his way to his second World Cup, Brennan Johnson will aim to guide Wales through the play-offs to make it to America.
A former teammate of Morgan Rogers at Lincoln City during the 2020/21 season, Johnson impressed with his 19 goal contributions in 49 matches during his stay at the LNER Stadium.
That set him up for Premier League stardom at Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, and now Crystal Palace.
Being a key figure in the Wales dressing room, with 42 caps under his belt, there is no doubt Johnson will be raring to make an impact against Bosnia and Herzegovina tomorrow in a semi-final clash.
If they were to win that match, they would face either Italy or Northern Ireland next Tuesday in a final game to decide who goes to the World Cup.

Liam Cullen
Another Welshman who was named in the squad to face Bosnia is the Swansea City midfielder Liam Cullen.
Cullen featured in 20 league games in a six-month loan spell at Lincoln in the 2021/22 season. Before returning to Swansea to become an established Championship midfielder.
The 26-year-old has played an important role in the UEFA World Cup qualification matches, playing 6 times in the run up to the semi-final.
If Wales were to qualify, it will be the first international tournament Cullen has played in since the Under 21 European Championships.
