Lincoln United have announced that Dave Frecklington will lead the team as manager next season alongside his assistant’s James Morgan and Darren Dye.
This comes after the trio were appointed in interim charge at the start of 2026 and have since lead the team to a 14th place finish in the Northern Premier League East Division.
That also came as they guided the Whites throughout an unbeaten start to the year at home that saw them climb out of the relegation zone.
All that is in spite of coming into a team that started their reign and the season expecting to be fighting for relegation.
However, since their first game in charge on New Years Day against Hallam FC, United have averaged 1.68 points per game.
Which when compared to the rest of the league at the same stage would see the Whites in sixth place, just a point behind Dunston UTS in the final play-off place.

Interestingly, they also would be on the same points as Emley AFC although with the Pewitts having played one less game in the same time, they took the play-off spot.
That is the case despite the White finding an impressive last gasp victory against them, as well beating their West Yorkshire rivals Pontefract Collieries away as part of a five match unbeaten run.
Frecklington also managed to find a draw at home against league winners Redcar Athletic and a 2-1 win over seventh placed Heaton Stannington.
Following his appointment, the former Director of Football said: “I think this has been my biggest achievement in management.
“Bottom in January and finishing 13th with three games to go is some going in such a tough division against some strong teams.
“The players delivered every week until we were mathematically safe, credit to every single one of them.
“We couldn’t have achieved this without Darren Dye and James Morgan by my side who have been just as influential in helping us achieve our Step 4 status for next season and hopefully beyond.”

On the appointment the Lincoln United board said: “We are delighted that Dave Frecklington, Darren Dye and James Morgan have committed to the job permanently, having brought so much success in the second half of last season.
“The performances and results of the team since the new year have been outstanding and have led to so much optimism and belief around the club when looking forward to the 26/27 season.
“Huge credit goes to the management team and the players who deserve a very well-earned rest before preparations begin for the season ahead.”
