With the final round of international fixtures for the March break now wrapped up City’s three internationals will now return in the hope of securing promotion this Easter weekend.

Kamil Conteh, Ryan One and Ivan Varfolomeev all represented their nations as either a full international or at youth team level.

While the currently on loan Oisin Gallagher also made his debut for Ireland Under 21’s and managed to score the winning goal, but how did they all get on?

Kamil Conteh:

While Conteh is yet to make an appearance for the Imps but he did start in midfield for Sierra Leone last night as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Azerbaijan.

The side then went on to lose the friendly 9-8 on penalties however, the 23-year-old didn’t take a spot kick as he was substituted in the 71st minute.

That was the African nations only game this break as their friendly against Oman, that was also due to be played in Azerbaijan, was cancelled due to military tensions in the middle east.

Conteh joined the club on loan from Bristol Rovers on deadline day of the January transfer window

Ryan Oné

Scotland Under 21 international Ryan One also only featured once for the Tartan Army as they were beaten 3-0 away to in a Euro U-21 qualifier.

That result left them third in their qualifying group just three points off Czechia under 21’s having played a game more.

Oné was once again a second half substitute when Scotland faced off against the side one place above them as they went on to draw 0-0.

As it stands third place wouldn’t be enough to see them qualify for the tournament as Portugal top the group and Czechia occupy the only play-off spot.

Ivan Varfolomeev

Varfolomeev featured more than any other City player for their nation as the summer recruit played every minute during Ukraine Under-21’s unbeaten break.

That started off with a 1-1 draw against Lithuania Under 21’s in Slovakia before they travelled to Hungary and managed to find a 2-1 victory.

Those results left the side third in qualification group H three points off Turkiye Under 21’s with two games to play, one of which comes against the Crescent stars.

Oisin Gallagher

Finally, currently out on loan midfielder Oisin Gallagher made his first start for Ireland Under 21’s as he went on to score the winning goal against Kazakhstan under-21’s.

He played the full game as his 89th minute header sealed the three points that left the Boys in Green third in qualification Group D.

They currently sit five points off Slovakia with three games and eight points off their final opponents, England who top the group.

Before that, Gallagher was an unused substitute as the side were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Moldova Under 21’s.

Now they return to City as they hope to clinch promotion against either AFC Wimbledon or Reading this busy easter weekend.

While Gallagher will return to Boston United for their final six games of the season as they hope to continue their climb through the National League mid-table.
