On this day over the last nine years, Lincoln City have lifted both the National League trophy as well as the League Two title.
To add to that, fans and players alike have spent the day this year, celebrating after they secured their place at the top of SkyBet League One yesterday evening.
Lincoln City head coach Michael Skubala said: “Now it feels like we can really celebrate, we didn’t want to celebrate too much with just getting promoted because we were so close to the title.
“However, now I need to think about things and what players look like.”

A brace from Ben House was what handed City the title and made it 27 games unbeaten and Skubala said: “It’s been important for the fans to enjoy that.
“But it was important for us to think about the next game, we’ve been focussed on that every time and not necessarily enjoyed it in the same way.
“We’ve obviously enjoyed the promotion, now we can enjoy the title and enjoy what has been an unbelievable and what I think, an iconic season.”
Despite picking up all three points, Skubala’s side only needed one to secure the title but despite that the 43-year-old said: “We always go out to win games.
“We don’t come out to get points, all season we’ve attacked every game to win it, we’re front footed, we’re attacking, we’re relentless and that’s how we do it.
“There’s no need to change any other way of doing it because the method has worked all season.”
