Dizzee Rascal’s performance at Lincoln’s Engine Shed on Monday night was postponed due to an “underlying health problem”.

The rap artist broke the news on his Twitter account at 7.13pm, after Engine Shed doors would have opened for the gig at 7pm. He apologised for his absence because of a sore throat. Zane Lowe also announced the news of the cancellation on his Radio 1 show.

His Twitter message said: “Lincoln show is cancelled tonight due to Dizzee Rascal having severe throat problems. Apologies to all fans coming out tonight.”

The show’s tickets were sold out. Many anxious fans who were attending the event were informed by Engine Shed door staff of the singer’s illness.

Dizzee Rascal will be announcing, as early as Tuesday, on both his official website and the Engine Shed’s website, when the gig’s date will be moved to.

Those who were turned away from the gig have been advised to keep their current tickets for the new date, and those who cannot attend the rescheduled event will be offered a full refund.
