Brighton folk rockers Levellers will be returning to the Engine Shed on March 6th, 2011. The sextet will be performing their classic 1991 album “Levelling The Land” in its entirety to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its release.
Since their beginnings in 1988, Levellers have produced over ten studio albums including “Zeitgeist” which reached #1 in the UK album charts. In 1994 they played Glastonbury festival and drew one of the largest crowds the festival had ever seen.
Levellers last played Lincoln in 2008 to a capacity crowd and next year is likely to be the same, with their politically focused set leading the crowd into a near frenzy of anti-capitalism and ‘green anarchy’.
With the band performing their top 20 album “Levelling The Land” in full, expect to hear some great traditional English folk songs. Their smash hit “One Way” will kick off proceedings and continue to progress into the fantastic “Battle Of The Beanfield”.
Tickets for the gig are priced at £23 plus booking fees. The event is 16+, ID will be required. For more information visit the Engine Shed website.
