The Healthy Hub is holding its own version of the Christmas Market, after the traditional one was cancelled due to the snow.

Over the weekend the venue on Beaumont Fee will be hosting over 30 stalls holders selling arts and crafts goods and food.

Local people and market holders were disappointed that Lincoln City Council, along with Lincolnshire Police and the Highways agency, decided to cancel the Lincoln Christmas Market for the first time in 28 years.

Rebecca Dray, chief executive of The Healthy Hub, decided to hold the event as many stall holders and visitors had already arrived in Lincoln by the time the cancellation had been announced.

Dray is hoping that the event will be a success especially as the weather is meant to improve over the weekend and should mean “a lot of local people come and support the traders and come and see what’s on offer”.

The Alternative Christmas Market is being held from Friday (12pm-9pm), Saturday (9am-9pm) and Sunday (9am-5pm) and you can visit their website for more information.
