Lincolnshire solo singer Elliott Morris has spoken to The Linc about his excitement about playing a free gig for BBC Introducing on Friday, 22nd July.

The event is part of the SO Festival in Skegness and will be broadcast live on BBC Lincolnshire. Morris said he is pleased to be playing for a station that has so much significance to his career: “It means so much – they’re fantastic. Without them I would be nowhere near as experienced as I am now and nowhere near as confident a performer.”

The festival is an annual event which takes place between the 22nd and 24th of July attracting people from across the county to the seaside town of Skegness and BBC Introducing gig is not the only event happening over the weekend, in different venues across the town.

This isn’t the first time Morris has played the festival and it is something that he has always enjoyed: “The SO Festival is a fantastic festival and it’s great to be playing there again! It’s always fun playing gigs for the BBC as they always put on a great show.”

The BBC Introducing show will be held at the Embassy Theatre in Skegness, and free tickets are available online. The event will also feature other local artists from across the county including A Story To Tell and Red Herrings as well as Dancing Lotus, the band whose collabration with Morris was a hit with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe.

“The BBC have been so encouraging and given me so many opportunities so far and for that I am very grateful,” explained Morris.

Some of the events for So Festival are free but others there is a small charge. To find out more, visit the SO Festival website.
