Chase & Status are set to make a second appearance in Lincoln with a DJ set at Tokyo nightclub on Thursday, December 6th.

Real names Saul Milton and Will Kennard, Chase & Status met through their mutual love of drum and bass over ten years ago. This friendship evolved into the formation of the group in 2003, whilst studying and DJing at the University of Manchester together.

The duo decided to drop out of university soon after to pursue a music career and the rest, as they say, is history.

After releasing EPs early on in their career that earned them noted acclaim in the UK Dance Charts, the group’s sound transformed from calmer “liquid” drum and bass to a new commercialised style. This was heard predominantly in their first album “More Than a Lot”, which came out in 2008.

A year later, the British group founded the independent record label MTA Records, which has a number of well-known acts signed to it, such as Nero.

Best known for singles “Blind Faith (ft. Liam Bailey) and “End Credits (ft. Plan B)”, the London-born duo have released two massively popular studio albums and are working on their highly-anticipated third album.

The pair have collaborated with big names such as Example, Cee Lo Green and Rihanna in recent years and, with eight successful singles to their name, it looks as if there’s no stopping them.

Chase & Status became one of the biggest selling UK artists last year after selling over 1m singles in the UK alone, so it didn’t come as much of a surprise when the pair began this year with a Brit nomination for “Best British Group”. However, it didn’t matter that they lost out to Coldplay as the group’s fan base has remained as loyal as ever.

The duo headline “Hype”, one of the UK’s leading bass music nights, at Tokyo Lincoln, which will also include performances by support acts Major Look, The Hype Generals and Upper Class Thugs.

Chase & Status come to Lincoln on Thursday, December 6th. Standard tickets are priced at £12.50 and VIP tickets are £15. Further details are available on the Tokyo Lincoln website.
