McFly’s frontman Danny Jones is returning to Lincoln with a solo DJ set to the Engine Shed on Wednesday, January 30th.
The band’s joint-lead vocalist will perform in the city as part of student night “Shuffle”. Jones previously performed a DJ set at the Engine Shed in 2011, and played with his bandmates at the venue in 2012, but will return to Lincoln on January 30th to carry on his career as a DJ.
Formed in 2003, McFly are “Obviously” one of the most popular pop rock bands of the last decade. With seven UK No. 1 singles including “Star Girl”, “Five Colours in Her Hair” and “Shine a Light”, it’s no wonder the sell-out boy band were able to easily compile a second greatest hits album called “Memory Lane: The Best of McFly”, released in November 2012.
To promote their latest album, which features new tracks such as “Cherry Cola” and “Love is Easy”, they have announced a UK tour for March and April 2013.
However, the Engine Shed will showcase Danny’s DJ talent before he joins McFly for the 21 date tour, marking their ten years together as a band.
The 26-year-old from Manchester not only co-writes songs for his own band and pop sensations such as One Direction, but is also currently producing his first electronic album. Danny works with DJ Roger Sanchez under the name “The Saturn V” to produce house remixes of well-known tracks such as Rihanna’s “We Found Love”.
He will also be branching out from his McFly fame and playing his own dance music tracks at the Lincoln set – making it a night not to be missed.
Danny Jones kicks off his set from 10.30pm on Wednesday, January 30th . Tickets are available from the Engine Shed box office for £5, or £4 with an NUS card.
