Lincoln city's winless streak extends to 4 games after losing to Aldershot.

Lincoln City will this week attempt to boost attendances and build a student following by offering free tickets to Lincoln’s game against Tamworth on the 8th October.

The club will have stalls at the Fresher’s Fayres at both universities.

The University of Lincoln’s fayre took place today in the Engine Shed, while Bishop Grosseteste’s fayre is on the 4th October between 10:00 and 14:00.

As well as handing out a limited number of free tickets, the club will also be promoting a Student Four-Pack ticket offer, which will enable students to go four games throughout Lincoln’s season. The Four-Pack ticket offer is priced at £25.

Club press officer John Vickers said, “The free ticket initiative is obviously the start (of attracting new fans to games), followed by the Student Four Pack which offers a considerable discount on normal prices.”

He also pointed out the huge market available to Lincoln due to the two universities being on their doorstep.

“With the best part of 15,000 students in the city, even if we can attract a small percentage to come on a regular basis, the initiative will be a success.”

The impressive start Lincoln City have made to this season is sure to entice students to the Gelder Group Sincil Bank Stadium and with the free ticket offer available, John hopes it will increase the club’s attendance.

“We’ll be giving away around 1,500 free tickets to the Tamworth fixture so even if there’s a 50% take up it will boost the gate significantly.”
