October 25 sees the Lincolnshire Sausage Festival return for its 12th year running, writes Danielle Hoe.

The biggest sausage fest of the year takes place in the castle grounds in Lincoln. Starting at 10am until 4pm it is expecting to receive more than 11,000 visitors this year.

This free event ran by Select Lincoln and the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia offers local produce from Boston Sausage, Red Hill Farm and Adams plus many others, all eager to show off their top quality Lincolnshire Sausages. Last year visitors bought a staggering 25,000 Lincolnshire sausages!

With cooking demonstrations and also live music from the ‘Cosmic Sausages’ all in aid of raising money for local charities; which was £2,500 last year, it’s a must visit for a fun, family day out.

Henry Ruddock, immediate past president of the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia said it has become “Immensely popular” and “is a good community event which helps to recognise Lincolnshire produce”.

There are a total of 60 stalls there this year all offering local produce to the public.
