Want some American smokehouse food slap bang in the middle of Lincoln? Look no further. Ribs ‘N’ Bibs offer just that.
Not only does this meaty restaurant offer the ultimate comfort food with not just great flavours, and the ability to ensure you’re belly-burstingly full, but it creates a welcoming, vibrant all-American atmosphere.
Such an atmosphere lets you momentarily forget you’re in a historical British cathedral city whilst perched (thankfully) at the bottom of Steep Hill, as everything screams USA – mmm!
But let’s get to the meat of the review. The ribs are beautiful. I’ve been to Ribs ‘N’ Bibs a fair few times now and with every visit I can say that the ribs are always tender, succulent, and flavourful.
If you’re not a huge fan of ribs, the menu also boasts burgers, hot dogs, shrimps, burritos and chicken, though sadly no vegetarian option.
I also highly recommend getting a starter if you reckon you can stomach it all; the chilli cheese fries are to die for. Specials are also a great option – I was lucky enough to stumble across this delicious specials platter.
This consisted of half a rack of ribs, pulled pork, a corn dog, fries and coleslaw. Oh my.
Along with the American theme, Ribs ‘N’ Bibs even offer a selection of (usually) US exclusive drinks on their menu, including Grape Soda, Cherry Dr. Pepper, and Snapple Pink Lemonade, which makes an awesome change from the standard British drinks we’re stuck with!
As students, we like a good deal! Luckily for us, during the week Ribs ‘N’ Bibs offers a few weekday offers that come in handy if you fancy a free dessert, beer or margarita. In addition, if it’s your birthday you can nab a free meal – bonus!
The service at this mighty restaurant is also great. The staff are always super friendly and polite and are more than willing to help with any requests you have.
I would definitely advise booking if you’re dining at the weekend, especially if you’re planning on visiting the restaurant during the evening as it can get pretty busy due to it’s popularity. The restaurant’s extra seating upstairs is useful here although occasionally it can feel cramped if there are larger parties.
If you also enjoy eating alongside entertainment, they offer nights with live bands and solo artists.
So, if you’re having one of those lazy weekends and find yourself pining for the authentic taste of America or if you’re simply celebrating an occasion, I’d definitely recommend giving Ribs ‘N’ Bibs a try. Treat yourself!
Warning: Food coma highly likely.
