Lincoln City midfielder Bradley Wood has said he has some of his ‘best memories’ of his career in the Cup, as the Imps host Guiseley in the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup today.

“It’s the best competition in the world, we want to win this game and this is the mindset we have at Lincoln,” Wood said.

“We just need to stay level headed and grounded, that is what our game plan is, it is always going to be a tough game for any teams that comes here and we have the same preparation for every game.”

Wood has recently been converted back into a midfielder after playing right back for a few games earlier on in the season. ‘

He said: “I’m glad to back in midfield, they are two different positions and I sometimes feel my energy maybe waste when I’m at right back but I’m happy whether the gaffer plays me.”

“He rang me up to put me back in midfield. I enjoy playing in midfield with someone who can handle the ball well.

“I can break up the play and pass it to a player like Alex Woodyard, I would feel wasted if I played in midfield with a similar player to me.”

If Lincoln manage to progress by beating Guiseley, they will be in the first round proper of the FA Cup.
