Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley thinks his side will have to be at their best to beat Wrexham tonight.

The Imps travel to the Racecourse Ground on the back of Saturday’s convincing 3-0 win over Braintree Town on Saturday.

Reflecting on the victory, Cowley said: “The world’s a much better place when we win. After not winning in three, it was a work-men like performance.”

The Imps’ focus now shifts to their long trip to Wales and Cowley is expecting a tough match.

“They got a really good result against Boreham Wood,” he said. “They will be buoyed by that result and will be confident from that.”

“It’s not an easy place to go, they’ve got a big and vicarious support, we will need to work very hard to keep them quiet.”

“We are respectful of Wrexham as they are a fantastic team with a real identity.”

After Saturday’s match, Braintree’s manager claimed they’d received a bid for forward Simeon Akinola.

In his press conference yesterday, Cowley admitted he’d made an enquiry about Akinola in the summer but the two clubs were still locked in negotiations.

However, Cowley didn’t hide the fact Akinola is a player he rates highly.

“He’s a player that we like, ” said Cowley, “He’s fantastic and was brilliant for us last year, he’s got speed and agility.”

The Imps have drawn Guiseley in the 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Despite the Lions sitting bottom of the National League, Cowley thinks it’ll be a difficult tie.

“They are in the same division but it will be a tough one, they are now more competitive under their new manager,” he said.
