Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley believes his side will have a tough task when the Imps travel to his former side, Braintree Town tonight.
Cowley and his brother Nicky managed the Essex outfit last season taking them all the way to the playoffs before falling to Grimsby Town in the semi-finals.
“It’s a place where he have worked and we know it well, it’s not an easy play to go, it was a fortress for us last season, I don’t think we saw the best of the opposition,” Cowley said.
Cowley knows that his side will need to produce a decent performance to get something out the match.
He said: “Many will think we will have an eye on the Arsenal game but we need to perform against Braintree.”
“It will give us a chance to show how focused and determined we are, we like it when our backs are against the wall.”
Lincoln will be boosted by the recent signing of Lee Angol, who has joined the club on loan from Peterborough United.
“It’s a huge signing for us, it has been in the pipeline for some time now and we are just delighted to get it over the line,” Cowley said
“It will add squad depth and will be an alternative to Matt Rhead,” Cowley said.
“He single-handedly got Boreham Wood promoted and we know what he can give us.”
