The University of Lincoln Students’ Union have announced that President Sammi Storey and Vice President for Academic Affairs John-Paul Dickie will be stepping down from their posts over a month early.
The two student leaders’ terms officially end on June 12, but will be stepping down from their roles on April 28 and May 5 respectively, after securing job opportunities.
This leaves the Students’ Union with just one elected leader, Vice President for Welfare and Community Tasnim Hassan, after Vice President for Activities Will Fry, and the Vice President International Aigerim Kuanysh stepped down last December.
President-elect Kudzai Muzangaza, will take up the role of President on a part time basis from May 22.
Until then, a committee has been established to deal with the day-to-day running of the SU. It will be chaired by Tasnim Hassan, and will include Student Trustees and College Officers. Lincoln SU say that any non-timely decisions will be delayed until the new Student Leader team are officially in positiont.
University of Lincoln Students’ Union President Sammi Storey said: “As Student Leaders we have had the opportunity to work on some fantastic projects; Swans Den, Learning Spaces, Never Ok to name just some and we would like to thank students and staff members who have made our experiences so invaluable.
“We both feel privileged to have been elected officers of the union.”
