An unidentified package found on a bus entering Lincoln has led to the closure of its train station, bus station and central car park.
A police cordon was initially erected around Lincoln Central Bus Station following the discovery of the package this morning, but the City of Lincoln Council say the cordon now stretches as far as the High Street.
Lincoln Railway Station was later closed to passengers entering the building followed by the closure of Lincoln Central Car Park.
The City of Lincoln Council are now urging people not to ‘come anywhere near to Lincoln Central bus station’.
There are also road closures on Pelham Bridge and Broadgate.
Update: The Linc’s Deputy News Editor, Suhara Jayasena, is at the scene, and says it is ‘chaotic’.
“I’ve missed my train and they haven’t given us any information on what to do. There are no coaches and they cannot even tell us when the train station is going to be up and running,” says Suhara.
The City of Lincoln Council has issues an image on Twitter of where the police cordon reaches.
