The New Theatre Royal in Lincoln is currently hosting coffee mornings every Thursday to raise money for their restoration fund.

Around £100 has been raised by coffee mornings so far, which are held at The Stage Door Bistro & Prosecco Bar and run from 11am until 2pm.

Sales manager Lee Newton said: “The fund started from September 2016 when the theatre was taken over privately by a family to help save this Victorian building.

“The money raised from the restoration fund will go towards the maintenance of the theatre.”

The money raised will help provide alterations for new disabled bathroom facilities, energy efficient lighting and heating systems, new entrance doors in a traditional Victorian style and more.

A total of nearly £600 has been raised so far out of their £20,000 goal.

Mr Newton said: “The fund is important because we do not have any external funding into the theatre, so we rely solely on raising revenue in-house from shows.”

A monthly quiz night is also held to raise money, and the next one will be held tonight at 7:30pm.

“We also offer Royal Memberships to every customer that comes through the door which allows them to receive benefits and discounts”, said Mr Newton.
