Ballot counting has begun today, after residents cast their votes yesterday in the City of Lincoln Council elections.
11 seats (a third of the council) are up for election, that’s one from each ward in the city. In total, that represents 7 Labour candidates and 4 Conservative candidates.
As it stands, the council is controlled by Labour by a majority of 24 to 9, meaning the Conservative Party couldn’t take a majority, even if they won/held every seat up for election. But they could significantly narrow Labour’s hold on the council.
