Lincoln City have completed the loan signing of 24-year-old forward Jordon Garrick until the end of the season.
Garrick joins from Championship side Swansea City after loan spells at Swindon Town and Plymouth Argyle in recent years, which included the young winger scoring at the LNER stadium in a 2-2 draw for Swindon in 2021.
The Jamaican began his youth career at Swansea in 2015, before breaking into the first team in the 2019/20 season. He appeared 11 times in the championship that year, scoring goals against Huddersfield Town and Hull City.
Speaking on his move to the Imps, Garrick said: “I’m super happy to be here – I’ve been at Swansea now for 10 years and it feels like this is the right club to take my career to the next step.
“I spoke to Liam Cullen, who was on loan here last season, he said it was a great group of lads and a well-run club. He said how passionate the fans are and spoke nothing but positively about the club.
“The head coach was a winger and someone I feel I can learn off. He speaks really highly of the fans, the staff and club in general.”
After starting the year positively with two draws against Exeter and Portsmouth, the main concern from fans was that the Imps have looked light in attacking areas. As summer signings Danny Mandroiu and Charles Vernam have been unavailable due to injuries.
A dominant 3-0 display in the first round of the Carabao Cup against Doncaster has worked to ease those concerns. But a signing of Garrick’s pedigree, especially when combined with his previous experience in League one, will bolster Head Coach Mark Kennedy’s creative options.
