Ahead of their 11th fixture this season, Lincoln City will play Accrington Stanley in Sky Bet League One on Saturday. Imps Boss, Mark Kennedy, spoke ahead of the tie about how decisions against his side have been “honest mistakes”, but that he would love to give his advice on what he has seen this season.

Lincoln will have felt hard done by as a result of a few decisions going against them this season. However, they will have no complaints regarding the 2-0 loss against Cambridge United, where decisions did not influence the game.

Kennedy said: “I think your job in life is to help people and not beat people up and criticize people. In the decisions we’ve had against us, complaining doesn’t help anybody. Sometimes when people leave jobs and they go to HR and they complain because they’ve lost a job but you can’t fix something unless you tell them where the problem is.”

Kennedy then did sympathise with how difficult it can be for referees at this level of football by going on to say: “Everybody is trying to do the job properly. It’s an incredibly high-profile job, so it’s really tough, it’s really hard, and all the guys we’ve had this year if they’ve made mistakes they’ve been honest mistakes.”

In positive injury news for the Imps, Kennedy spoke about Lasse Sørensen. The Danish midfielder had a picked up concussion injury and winger Jordan Garrick had suffered a knock. But both were back in training with Garrick’s first day back today.

TJ Eyoma, who struggled against Cambridge on Saturday and was consequently subbed at half-time, has had a fantastic week at training according to Kennedy.

“TJ is a great lad, a brilliant pro. I spent a lot of time speaking to all the lads informally so our relationships in that regard are very strong. I’ve spoken to TJ more than the others. His response this week has been outstanding.”

Ahead of the game on Saturday, Kennedy warned of not underestimating Accrington Stanley despite their recent performances and results.

“It’ll be a tough day at the office on Saturday, everyone’s capable of beating everyone. I think they are a really hardworking team and an outstanding manager who has proved the test of time with great success. We’re going to have to be at our best to beat them.”
