Lincoln City have signed Crystal Palace striker Luke Plange on loan for the remainder of the season, easing concerns over a lack of strikers at the club, after former club captain Tom Hopper departed to Colchester United and Charley Kendall went on loan to Bromley FC.
Plange has been on the books of a number of clubs throughout his career so far, starting at Arsenal before moving to Derby County and then Crystal Palace.
The 20-year-old earnt a move to Palace after impressing for Derby in the Championship during the 2021/22 season, where he scored four goals in 19 starts.
Most recently, Plange has played in Belgium for RWD Molenbeek in the country’s second-highest division, the Challenger Pro League.
On his move to the Imps, he said: “It’s always an honour to put on the No.9 shirt and I can’t wait to get going.
“I’ve met the lads already and I’m ready to get straight into training and start preparing for the first game. I feel good and I’m ready to get started.”
He added: “I’ve seen a lot of young players progress at this club and I want to do as well as I can back in English football now. I’m a versatile forward who likes to run behind a lot, but I can also come in for the ball to feet.”
In terms of where Plange will stack up, compared to Mark Kennedy’s current preferred striking option in Ben House, will be interesting to see develop.
