Local company Sun-hat Villas & Resorts have been named as Lincoln United FC’s new stadium sponsors and are set to provide a significant investment.
Ashby Avenue will be renamed the Sun-hat Villas & Resorts stadium as the Lincoln-based holiday villa company have signed a 5-year sponsorship package with the club.
The deal comes with significant long-term investment for Lincoln United, as they search for promotion from the United Counties League Premier Division, back into the Northern Premier League.
Sun-hat CEO and Founder Peter Jenkins said: “That good feeling I had about the club before is back, and with COVID behind us I am looking forward to getting involved again and doing everything I can to help the club move forward.”
The company have sponsored The Whites for much of the last decade. Peter said: “I really enjoyed my previous involvement with Lincoln United, until Covid came along and all but wiped out the travel industry and forced me reluctantly to step away,”
Lincoln United chairman Allen Crombie added: “We have managed to put together a really solid sponsorship base, thanks to those who have supported us for many years and those who have just recently come on board.”
Former Whites’ player and manager Crombie has been a major part of this deal being agreed. He said: “When I became chairman, I hoped I could persuade him to come back to Ashby Avenue, but he was already thinking along the same lines, and I am delighted that he is back with us where he belongs.”
The chairman believes this sponsorship deal will help Lincoln United achieve their ambitions of returning to the Northern Premier League.
