Lincoln City defender TJ Eyoma

Lincoln City defender TJ Eyoma spoke to the media after his late goal earned the Imps a point in an exciting 2-2 at home to Barnsley.

It was Eyoma’s first City goal at the LNER Stadium and was very pleased. He said: “I’m happy to help the lads in a good draw.”

His goal came with only two minutes of the 90 left to play, with the defender praising his side’s desire to search for an equaliser.

He said: “I feel like we have a never say die attitude. We are all working hard for each other and its showing that our hard work in training is paying off.”

“It’s Important we never give up until the final whistle. Its annoying that we conceded the two goals but we were pushing on and we got the goal in the end.

“Like I said we have a never say die attitude. We now go onto Tuesday away at Cambridge which will be tough so we will recover well and give it a good go.”

Michael Skubala’s side rescued a point in his first home game as head coach.

The game was Michael Skubala’s first home game in charge at Lincoln.

When asked about playing under new head coach Skubala, the defender was pleased with what the team are trying to do.

He said: “I thought the first half was good. You can see that our ideas are coming out on the pitch. It is going to take time. Rome wasn’t built in a day, so I feel like it’s coming together and you’re starting to see what we are about.”

Eyoma has started the previous five games now for City in all competitions, and is relishing being back in the side. He said: “I’m enjoying it. I’m working hard I’ve been training, I’m happy to contribute to the team, hopefully I can keep my spot and I’m enjoying it right now.”

He was also grateful for the more than 9,100 fans that attended the game: “The place was bouncing, I couldn’t even hear my teammates today. Thanks a lot to the support they give us and we appreciate it.”

The Imps are back in action on Tuesday night where they make the short trip south to face Cambridge United in league action.
