Huddersfield Town have confirmed the signing of Lincoln City star Lasse Sorensen on a three-year deal.
The newly relegation SkyBet League One side have sealed the signature of the Imps’ right-wing-back for an undisclosed fee.
Sorensen was Lincoln’s top appearance-maker last season, featuring in 51 all competition games across the lengthy campaign. In all, he made 136 appearances for City, including 115 in the third tier.
He made his move to the LNER Stadium in the summer of 2021, leaving Stoke City, and has made an impression over the three seasons he stayed in Lincolnshire.
During his time at City, he won the goal of the season award for a memorable strike from inside his own half during the 2022/23 campaign.
He was also a key part of Lincoln’s community activities, being named the PFA Community Champion in both the past two seasons.
Speaking to the Imps’ club website, director of football Jez George said: “While we’re sad to see Lasse leave, he does so with our respect and affection for how he has represented our club with such distinction on and off the pitch.
“As we were unable to extend Lasse’s contract last season, despite all of our best efforts, we knew that if we didn’t sell him this summer he would leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
“While we would obviously have preferred for Lasse to move to a club in the Championship, that option didn’t exist. Huddersfield were professional throughout our negotiations and met our valuation after we turned down two offers, so we concluded that it was in the best interest of Lincoln City to agree a deal.”
