Russ Wilcox has signed a new contract with Gainsborough Trinity, extending his stay in North Lincolnshire.

The deal will keep the Holy Blues manager at The Northolme for a further two seasons, up to the summer of 2027.

Trinity currently sit 13th in the Northern Premier League, during Wilcox’s first full season in charge, after successful campaigns in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

Under Wilcox’s management, the step three side have reached the First Round Proper of the FA Cup, facing Harrogate Town in front of the BBC camera.

In the Trophy, York City and Chester were among the fallen giants, as Trinity made it to the round of 16 before losing to National League Woking.

The former Scunthorpe United manager and player took over at Gainsborough in September 2023, and led his side to an 8th placed finish.
