Around 7,500 people walked through the doors of Lincoln Cathedral across a five-night light and sound show.
Colourful projections were shown on the cathedral’s walls, alongside atmospheric music, to bring together an immersive spectacle.
The cathedral’s events organiser, Lesley Kirrage, said: “It’s opening our doors, we are everybody’s cathedral and we hope this is showing people that we can be there for everyone.”
The installation, by Luxmuralis, brought the theme of ‘Time’ to visitors. It had ties to climate change, alluding to time as a whole according to the Cathedral.
On the environmental issues raised, Lesley added: “Last year, our theme was ‘God’s Creation: Our Planet’, and it’s something that we do hold in our thoughts. We are part of the eco-church scheme, so we are always conscious of that.
“It’s about raising that bit of awareness while people have an enjoyable evening.”
The show was the third of its kind, while the cathedral has seen very few events like it in its more than 950 years of history.
