Lincoln transformed into a showcase of mesmerising light displays from artists worldwide. On Thursday and Friday, the 20th and 21st of February, the city saw ten light illustrations located in some of Lincoln’s historic landmarks, from the Cornhill to the Castle.

The new event, free for the public to enjoy, offered an opportunity for people of all ages to experience the city in an entirely new way.
Simon Hollingworth, the Event Producer of Lincoln Lights 2025, said: “I’m loving seeing people enjoying themselves and standing here… looking at the cathedral, it’s absolutely stunning.”
“It’s been so busy, busier than we ever imagined. We knew it was going to be popular but we did not predict these numbers. It’s been amazing.” Simon estimated that around ten-thousand people attended the evening event.
One of the attendees was Jessica Cassidey, 18, from Sheffield. She said: “I go to university here and this is just a nice activity to come to. I think it’s really cool.”

“We were saying on the way up here that we were really happy to choose this place because there’s a lot of stuff that goes on.”
After seeing the great success of the two nights, Simon Hollingworth added: “I’m very confident it (Lincoln Lights) will happen again because there’s such a demand for it.”
