Lindum Hockey were already relegated when Harborne made the trip to Lincoln, but managed to pick up all three points with a late winner.
Coming off the back of two draws, the Yellow Submarines had seen their fate sealed when Deeside Ramblers secured a 2-1 win against Durham University,
Lindum played well in front of their home crowd to leave a good incentive to win their final game of the league next week, looking to end to term on a high.
After back-to-back promotions for the team, becoming the first Lincolnshire team to reach the second tier of English hockey, Lindum were relegated at the end of a tough campaign.
First-half:
The first quarter was slow for both teams as they each failed to make an impression. After a lot of play in the middle of the pitch, and a missed short corner for Lindum, both teams looked to move forward.
Play picked up in the second quarter after Harborne got the ball rolling in the 30th minute with a goal from Adam Harriman.

Lindum were quick to respond with Mike White scoring from a penalty flick awarded to Lindum, though the glee was short lived after Harborne made it 2-1 in the final minute of the quarter.
Second-half:
Coming into it one goal down, Lindum played scrappily to bring themselves back level again. After Sam Dixon failed to score, with his chance on goal being cleared by Harborne defenders, Mike White made it two scoring from yet another short corner.
At the commencement of the fourth quarter, it was all to play for. Dan Garlick continued to make some brilliant saves but could not stop Harborne’s Louie Morris scoring a screamer to make it 3-2 to the visitors.

Though, with five minutes to go, Harry Antill clipped in the rebound from Dixon’s effort to tie the game.
Then, despite a green card for Ben Read in the 66th minute, Michael Harris scored a last-minute goal for the Yellow Submarines to see them victorious with a final score of 4-3. The ball bobbled over the line after a quick counter-attack saw the hosts in behind the Harborne defence.
Lindum will play fellow relegated side Stourport next weekend in their final game of the season, to cap off a season where the luck was rarely on their side.
