Scunthorpe’s Butler: “I’m really pleased”

Andy Butler hailed Maison Campbell’s penalty shootout heroics, after his ‘keeper made a pair of shootout saves.
Butler said: “Maison’s done that in quite a few penalty shootouts, believe it or not. He did it against Brigg Town in pre-season, so we know he’s capable of that and he made two great saves.
“We hadn’t practiced them, so fair play to the lads that stepped up”
Max Brogan, Joe Rowley and Carlton Ubaezounu all netted in the shoot-out.
On the 90 minutes, Butler told The Linc: “I’m really pleased, it was an entertaining game today. It was a game that everyone could get behind, and the fans really got involved in it.
“I’m pleased we got the win and I’m pleased for the lads that have performed.”
Cleethorpes’ Rouse: “We can be proud”

Cleethorpes Town manager said his players were fantastic against what he described as a good Scunthorpe United side.
Rouse said: “Before the game we just wanted to bring the best version of ourselves, and we can be proud of what we’ve done.”
First half goals from Mark Beck and Mo Fadera for The Iron were cancelled out by strikes from Nicky Walker and Josh Walker.
Ubaezounu’s second half third forced Town to square the game up for one final time going into the final ten minutes, as Connor O’Grady finished calmly beyond Campbell while one-on-one.
Rouse praised his players’ character to keep their heads up and pull back level three times.
“We used our character to bounce back and going behind is something that we’re keen to address, but when you play against good players they can punish you at any time,” he said. “We were under no illusion of the task at hand, and they were always going to make changes, we just made sure that we left nothing out on the pitch.”
