Speaking to The Linc deputy sports editor Spencer O’Leary, Wilcox said: “It’s an amazing way to finish the season, and to finish one place higher than last season in seventh, and have one more point than last season on top of the two amazing cup runs, it has been a fantastic year.”

The Trinity boss looked ahead to the summer transfer window, recounted an “amazing” campaign with highlights in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy, and credited the people behind the scenes at The Northolme.
