A new study by Hyapp has revealed that the Lincolnshire town scored 254th place out of 259, according to the data. According to the data Grimsby has one vape shop for every 100,000 residents and 74 monthly vape-related searches per 100,000 people.

This contrasts with Lincoln where there were 295 monthly vape-related searches, according to the research. The Lincolnshire town sits just above Sunderland, Crawley, Morley, Cambridge and Bexley.

Accrington in Lancashire was the most vape-obsessed place in the UK with around 40 vape shops per 100,000 residents. Bolton in Greater Manchester ranked the second-highest with 33 vape shops per 100,000 residents.

The data was gathered by the website Companies House and the researchers filtered active businesses with the key words vapes, vaping, e-cig, e-cigarette, e-liquid, e-juice, and ecigs.

The researchers also analysed average monthly search volumes for the most popular vaping brands in each location using Google AdWords.

Markus Lindblad, Head of External Affairs at Haypp, said: “The upcoming ban is set to affect 1 in 7 young adults in the UK and 1 in 20 adults overall. While it may feel overwhelming for those who rely on disposable vapes, this change also opens up the opportunity to explore more sustainable options.

“Switching to reusable vape kits, for example, will not only reduce waste but also provide a more customised experience when it comes to flavours and nicotine strengths.”
