Michael Skubala was delighted with his team’s performance following Lincoln City’s 4-2 win over Bolton Wanderers.
Having gone 2-0 up through early goals from Erik Ring and James Collins, the Imps were pulled back by Steven Schumacher’s side before the break with goals courtesy of Jay Matete and Alex Murphy.
In the second-half, Collins netted his second of the game and Reeco Hackett cleverly caught out Nathan Baxter with a free-kick from distance.
Skubala summed the game up simply, stating: “What a game of football, it had everything didn’t it?”
“We started the game so well, we looked dominant. We started so well with the ball, we looked threatening, we were just so good,” he added. “It’s what we want to be.”

Looking towards next season, Skubala praised his squad’s character. “You cannot the character and the motivation of this group. They’re not on the beach, they love winning, we just want to push on. We keep learning things about this group.
“The best thing is, whilst we are winning, we are learning loads about what we want to be next season.”
Lincoln City skipper amongst the substitutes:
Imps’ captain Paudie O’Connor returned to the squad following the end of his suspension.
The Irishman was the subject of transfer speculation in January, with his contract set to expire in the summer.

City boss Skubala told members of the media that his decision to put O’Connor on the bench rather than in the starting line-up, although made with one eye on the summer window, was primarily made because of Adam Jackson and Tom Hamer’s impressive showing as a centre-back pair against Reading.
“The two centre-backs at Reading were fantastic, that’s my overriding decision with that. Paudie’s been suspended for three games, he’s the skipper but you have to earn your place back.
“That’s definitely one eye on next season, but the lads performed well and we didn’t want to unsettle that back line.”
Lincoln City travel to Stockport County on Saturday for their final away game of the campaign, before welcoming Wrexham to the LNER Stadium on the final day.
