Lincoln United 3-1 Heanor Town
Manager Scott Hellewell said he was “excited” for the final game of the season, after Lincoln United kept the UCL Premier Division North title race in their hands.
Lincoln took the lead in the second minute through debutant Josh Batty, before Heanor Town equalised just moments after the half-time interval.
However, goals from Tristan Drummond and captain Elliott Dye secured a 3-1 victory for United, keeping the gap at the top of the table at two points ahead of Eastwood CFC.
The Linc sports reporter Jamie Johnson, Hellewell said: “It’s in our hands, and we knew that if we win on Monday we have won the league. We will approach that game as we do every game, it will be a tough game.”
Lincoln head to Skegness Town for the final game of the season on Monday, knowing a victory or bettering the results of both Eastwood and Bourne Town would secure promotion into step four.
The Whites manager also gave a squad update, which included Owen Vincent Sean Wright being ruled out of the trip to the coast.
