Maintenance work will be carried out during students’ summer break on Brayford Wharf East, the road on the eastern side of campus whose residents include the University of Lincoln’s David Chiddick Building and student accommodation complex The Junxion.

Footpaths will be repaved and new traffic lights and crossings will be installed near the junction with Wigford Way, in order to help minimise disruption when construction begins on a footbridge over the level crossing.

“This piece of work will enable Network Rail to build the much needed footbridge over the level crossing,” Chris Kidd, Senior Technician at Lincolnshire County Council, told The Lincolnite. “We’re carrying out this work now so there’ll be less disruption to businesses and residents during the construction of the bridge.

“Be aware that the level crossing will still be operating as normal throughout the works and so please make sure you keep clear.”
