The aviator jacket: once a pilot’s attire now a must-have trend.

Winter is here and so is our newest, warmest and trendiest look. We are not trying to put you off the cold season or make you feel depressed about the lack of sunshine, instead, let’s just look at the trends that make winter just a bit better.

After all, Christmas is not the only reason why we love this time of the year so much. There is nothing better than getting all cosy and wrapped up on a cold, foggy day! And every year fashion trends allow us to look good and feel good. Winter 2015/16 was all about camel and shawl collar belted coats. But leave the smart and stylish Kim K inspired look back in the old year for now.  It’s all about the aviator jackets and fur this season.

If you are only planning on buying one coat (we know what you are thinking- yeah right!) but if you are, make sure it’s the aviator. The trend kicked off at the beginning of this autumn season in August with a flying start. Like a leather biker jacket, this one trend has been added an extra cool, fur collar. This jacket works brilliantly because it gives an oversized shape that we normally don’t see in biker jackets. It’s also perfect when worn with cute mini dresses, skirts or your favourite jeans and jumper- you just can’t go wrong with it. The fur on the inside makes it super warm and cosy which is essential for the dramatic change of the temperature.

And if you want to stay away from the original black colour, there is a huge variety of winter tones to choose from with khaki, camel, grey and burgundy being among the most popular ones. Alternatively, you can stay faithful to your ‘ all black every day’ look and spice it up with a different colour collar.

On the high street, Topshop has had a phenomenal response to its £79 version. However, if you are on a budget, don’t worry. Boohoo got you. With their amazing price of £40, you can get the exact same version in black, blush pink, tan and nude.
