The University of Lincoln has announced it is looking into reports of missing or damaged post at its on-campus student accommodation.
Students from Lincoln Courts have said that money sent in the post to their accommodation has gone missing and they have been unable to locate the mail.
Reece Godfrey, a first year Computer Science student living in Courts said: “I was expecting a letter from my grandma which contained £30 and some other stuff so that I could afford to get some food and buy my grandad a birthday present/card and send it in time for his birthday.
“It was sent first class last Monday but the accommodation office doesn’t have it, nor does the actual uni post room.”
Meanwhile, first year Product Design student Willow Woodmin told The Linc that she was ‘angry and sad’ after failing to receive post on her birthday two months ago.
“Around my birthday on the 21st Jan I didn’t receive any post and a few of my relatives and family friends were asking about them.
“I know for certain four items went missing – one card containing cash and another containing a cheque as well as a package containing a present,” she said.
A University of Lincoln spokesperson has since confirmed that they are aware of the reports by students.
“We are investigating these reports and would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to the Accommodation team,” they said.
