A member of staff at the University of Lincoln died on campus yesterday.

The emergency services were called at 1pm on Tuesday, 10 April regarding a patient who was unconscious and not breathing.

The University of Lincoln confirmed that the person was a member of the ICT department and that they died after ‘becoming ill suddenly’ while on campus.

A spokesperson for the institution said: “A member of staff from the ICT department very sadly passed away after becoming ill suddenly.

“Our sincere thoughts and condolences go to his colleagues, friends and family – who have been informed. We would like to thank those staff and students who called emergency services and provided assistance.”

In a statement, an East Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said they received a call to an incident at the university at 12:47pm on 10 April.

“The caller reported a patient who was unconscious and not breathing.

“We sent two double crewed ambulances and the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance,” they said.
