Don’t start the new year with dry and dull looking skin. This is a year to embrace and appreciate your skin by treating it to the upmost respect it deserves.

Sudocrem (£2.00 – Wilkos, Tesco)

Most commonly known for being used on babies, Sudocrem isn’t exactly recognised for its skin care abilities on adults.

To that, I say, why on earth not?

The product does a fantastic job in getting rid of those pesky spots that enjoy terrorising appearances on a daily basis. For those of whom have tried toothpaste in effort to get clear skin, the cream works in a similar but is less stubborn to remove and doesn’t leave you scrubbing at your face in the mornings.

Apply the cream, away from the eyes, on the points of the face which require assistance. Rather than rubbing in the cream, leave it be overnight, for a more effective result. As always, nothing will work magically overnight, but with a regular routine, you will see slight improvements.

Carmex (£1.79 – Superdrug)

Whether you love it, or you loathe it, Carmex has been around for many years and it will be around for many more. The balm keeps the lips hydrated for long periods of time and provides a stunning shine.

It’s definitely a product to keep on possession during the bitter cold months of the year, where chapped lips are inevitable.

Clinique 72H Moisture Surge (£12.00 – Debenhams)

If there is a moisturiser dedicated to winter, it has got to be the Clinique 72H Moisturise Surge. Dry skin is never an attractive look and cold weather definitely doesn’t help. This moisturiser excels at providing a layer of hydration that keeps the skin looking dewy and healthy through out the day.

It’s definitely a moisturiser that both those with combination skin will appreciate as it doesn’t dry up the skin or leave it with a greasy residue. What’s not to love?

Clique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion (£25.00 – allbeauty.com)

It’s important when considering skin care we think about all parts of our body as well as the face. Our hands are the most vulnerable in being neglected to the care they deserve in the freezing conditions. The lotion comes in a compact travel sized bottle that can be taken anywhere, without it taking up much space.

Just massage into the hands and get on with the tasks of the day. It soaks up instantly and leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturised for the remainder of the day.

Gatineau Peeling Expert (£17.00 – allbeauty.com)

I wouldn’t recommend using this product more than twice a week, but the Gatineau Peeling Expert is a gem when it comes to exfoliating the skin and removing impurities. The skin is exposed to pollutants every single day, it is vital to cleanse the skin of these irritants before they get the chance to cause break outs.

The cream contains natural bamboo particles that exfoliate the skin and stimulate cell regeneration that contribute to a youthful appearance. Just wet the skin and massage on the face and neck before washing off and patting dry. Its as simple as that and the results are profound.
